Amazing Cars and Drives Car Buyer Guide: Mercedes-Benz A-Class AMG
The latest in Mercedes A-Class AMG, the A200 AMG Line boasts a gorgeous exterior with the classic AMG front bumper; large diffusers and chrome radiator pins, complemented by a sleek chrome splitter. 18 inch AMG alloy wheels finished in titanium grey are also complemented by a fluted side skirt – a neat aesthetic feature that we didn’t see in the previous SE models. The rear of the vehicle is equipped with two chunky exhausts at either side, underlined again by a chrome finisher. Meanwhile, the A Class’ new LED tail lights add a more pronounced and sharp dimension to the vehicle’s shape.
Inside the car contains a beautiful combination of high quality upholstery and advanced technology. With interiors finished in Artico and Dynamica, contrasting red stitching is in place across the seats, steering wheel and door cards, bringing out the best of the car’s longitudinal aluminium trim along the doors and into the centre console of the dashboard.
The integration of MBUX (Mercedes-Benz User Experience) represents a defining feature for the car and is a first for the compact car market. This intuitive voice assistant is unified by two 7 inch touch screens which can pre-navigate journeys, incorporating live traffic information (all features are also accessible via the steering wheel’s touch pad). All of these features are unified by a totally customisable system, which includes an adjustable steering column, wing mirrors and seats – not to mention personalised ambient interior lighting, changeable by voice command.
The A Class’ advanced tech doesn’t end there. The vehicle’s impressive keyless locking system allows for instantaneous locking, whilst the intuitive stop-and-start function adds a layer of convenience and fuel conservation. The car’s unrivalled range of safety features are seen in the Traffic Sign Assist, Parking Assist and Attention Assist features, placing a significant focus on automation and nascent technology.
This is the fourth generation of Mercedes A-Class, and you can really feel that evolution in how the car drives. The car’s design is generous in the space it allows for passengers, with a boot space that is large and a significant improvement on previous models.
With the new A-Class, Mercedes have truly considered everything in the driving experience; from sheer comfort to the most advanced technology on offer.
