Amazing Cars and Drives Car Buyer Guide: Mercedes-Benz E220d E-Class Coupe Review

Mercedes have finally released the latest E-Class Coupe, and we love it. This is one of the most visually-appealing and sought after coupes on the market, and blows competitors such as the BMW 6 Series out of the water when it comes to sheer space and comfort. A truly dynamic vehicle, this model is also available as a four-door saloon and a family estate car.

Inside the car, the cabin looks (and feels) considerably improved when compared to the traditional 6 Series. A sleek, glossy dashboard is finished in a brilliant aluminium, with wood trims and metal controls for its wonderfully-adjustable seating. The dashboard comes equipped with an 8.4 inch infotainment system (a feature which is upgradeable to a 12.3 inch online system).

Depending on your pack, the interior of this car is lined with real leather upholstery. Of course, the standard model come equipped with Mercedes’ own man-made finish, referred to by the manufacturer as Artico leather. This makes for a comfortable experience in the front, which is matched in the back with ample head and leg space for all passengers. Likewise, the boot of the car offers a 425 litre capacity – perfect for buggies, luggage and shopping.

On the road, the E220d is light on its feet and impressively speedy, packing enough power to quickly overtake slow traffic (the speed is of course improved in the E350d and E400 models). Regardless of your choice, the E220d comes with adaptive suspension as a standard.

In terms of safety, the E220d is a winner, with a five-star safety rating helped along by its range of safety features, including automatic emergency braking. A beautiful cruiser of the motorways, this car is as nice to look at as it is to drive.
