Mercedes-Benz B Class B200d Sport Review

The latest in our series of car reviews focuses on the new Mercedes-Benz B Class B200d Sport. We have been waiting for some time for the new Mercedes-Benz B-Class, and we had a great time testing the sleek and speedy B200d Sport. With a high seating position and luxurious interior, the new B-Class offers all the pros of being an SUV – without actually being an SUV. Indeed, the vehicle’s smooth, aerodynamic design is a cool alternative to the huge range of off-road SUVs on the market. What’s more is that vehicle offers a seriously sporty appearance with AMG’s own line trim, combined with lowered suspension.

Whilst the B200d Sport boasts a lengthier body than the majority of hatchback vehicles, the car’s sleek, curvaceous styling has created a truly visually-appealing automobile. This means that despite its status as a hatchback, the B200d Sport will look at home parked beside more substantial compact SUVs.

The car’s beautiful exterior is matched in the inside, were chrome-finished air vents and dual infotainment displays come as an attractive standard feature. You can pay extra to upgrade the twin 7 inch monitors for 10 inch screens. However, the user-friendliness of Mercedes’ intuitive MBUX (Mercedes-Benz User-Experience) makes the motoring experience an already convenient one, with a system loaded with useful security and driving assistance features.

What is neat about this car is how customisable it is: a feature granted by the introduction of MBUX technology. We loved the customisable ambient lighting system, allowing drivers to select the colour of lighting inside from a hugely-impressive 64-colour mood lighting wheel. The interior of the vehicle alone truly separates this model from competitors.

On the road, the B200d Sport makes for a truly comfortable and convenient driving experience. Both the driver and passengers are granted more-than-sufficient head and leg space. Meanwhile, a substantial boot space with sliding rear seats makes the already significant space extendable if required.

A huge draw of the vehicle is in its standard automatic gearbox, which allows for a more relaxed driving experience in a variety of road settings.

Whilst the B200d doesn’t come cheap, the vehicle’s performance matched with its sheer comfort make it a truly worthy investment.
