Cars are motor vehicles that people use for transportation. They are also called automobiles. Besides, this word mainly comes from two words auto, which comes from Greece, and mobile, which comes from France. Moreover, some features must be in any car, such as running on roads, having four wheels and a motor, having from one seat to eight, and mainly transporting people instead of goods.

In 1885, the first car in the world knew was invented by Carl Benz. The top speed of the motor of this car could reach sixteen km per hour. This car was known as the Benz Patent Motorwagen. In 1908, the Model T was first created by Henry Ford and became the first car available to the masses. It was a low-cost car.

Nowadays, different car types have about thirty thousand parts. Most of these parts are produced in Japan. Moreover, 80% of these cars can be recycled because about twelve thousand cars are recycled annually in the United States alone.

There are two types of transmission in cars. These types are manual and automatic. Recently, more than 95% of the vehicles in the United States have automatic transmission. In 2013, most of the sold cars were white as white vehicles are 10% less likely to be involved in an accident.

Airbags are essential in cars as they inflate in just 30 milliseconds in case of a crash or an impact. During the eighties, the automobile industry provided one of every six jobs in the United States. Thus, the automobile industry became a massive power for change in the 20th century in America. In addition, from 1909 to 1927, Ford produced more than fifteen million cars.

The first type of car that we will discuss in this article is the hatchback car. A hatchback is a car body formation with a back door that swings upward to provide access to a cargo area. Thus, it is a practical car.

Moreover, the seats of the second row of hatchbacks can be fold-down. The hatchback car made its first appearance during the thirties. The first people who invented this type were Ford Focus and Volkswagen Golf.

Furthermore, the hatchback body style belonged to small family cars or sports cars. The term returns decades but recently has been used to refer to smaller cars. Unlike all vehicles with four doors, these cars have only two or three. Many people think this car is known for its affordable prices. These cars come in a range of sizes and all sorts of costs, but not all of these cars are efficient.

Additionally, the hatchback looks like a sedan or coupe car, but the hatchback has more available cargo room while the trunk is attached to the main cabin. Besides, the trunk door opens, allowing more space to store cargo.

Moreover, this type of car is excellent as it provides more space for transporting goods and staff. Finally, many companies manufacture hatchbacks. Besides, there are many models of this type, such as:

The second type that we will introduce to you is a sedan car. This type represents the image of a four-door passenger car, as it has a closed body with the engine, occupants, and baggage. Moreover, this configuration is called Salon. Thus, a sedan car is also called a salon car.

The Sedan Car is one of the most common car body styles as it is known for its separate boxes for its engine, passengers, and trunk. Furthermore, the word sedan dates back to the seventeen century because this term referred to an enclosed chair carried on poles. Hence, it was one of the means of transportation for the upper class.

During the nineteen century, the word sedan reappeared as some literature described certain types of horse-drawn carriages as sedans. In 1899, Renault Voiturette was the first one who used the word Sedan to refer to an automobile. It was a closed cabin with a chair and four wheels instead of human carriers at the front and the back.

On January 11th, 1913, Hudson Motor Company released its first sedan. It was the first time people saw the sedan with a standard three-box design. There are some advantages of sedans. To illustrate, they are safer than other cars. They are more stable on the road because of better weight distribution.

Besides, they have more comprehensive engine options. They also can achieve better fuel efficiency.  They vary in their offerings as many models are affordable on nearly any budget, and there are also extremely well-equipped luxury models. Hence, this type of car suits all budgets. In addition, there are some differences between sedans and hatchbacks. One of these differences is that many hatchbacks cost more than sedans.

Sedans have a separate place for luggage. Another difference between hatchbacks and sedans is the interior space, as sedans offer more space than hatchbacks. However, there are many sub-types of sedans, such as transversely mounted engines, longitudinally mounted engines, two-door sedans, and four-door coupe sedans. Finally, many companies manufacture Sedans, such as:

The third type is the coupe car. The coupe car is a sedan. It is a passenger car with a sloping back roofline to provide a sporty feel with two doors and two seats. Besides, it usually has a large engine and a small cabin, and the car length is shorter than the sedan. Moreover, the word coupe referred at first to horse-drawn carriages for two passengers without back-facing seats.

The first version of coupe cars was in Berlin during the eighteenth century. It was shortened version with no back-facing seat. Hence, it was called the Berlin coupe. Later, the term Berlin Coupe became only coupe. Furthermore, a coupe has a fixed glass window in front of the passenger cabin.

Coupe cars have many pros, such as providing higher fuel economy than bigger cars and being available as economy or luxury models. Besides, when someone removes one of the two doors, he changes the car’s exterior styling and gives it a sportier look.

During the twenties, steel bodies began to be produced by many companies. Hence, closed cars became available to the average buyer, and fully open cars began to disappear from the markets. By the mid of thirties, the remaining small number of Convertible cars sold were high-priced luxury models.

Furthermore, there are many types of these detachable roofs like Textile, Detachable hardtop, and Retractable hardtop. Several features of the Convertible car make them unique as it provides more headroom and has a unique style. It also has some cons, such as high prices and loud noises.
